about the  proprietor...

My name is Dana Cilento and I have been practicing yoga since 1999 and have been honored to share it since 2001.

An E-RYT500 and YACEP, I received my 200 hour certification through The Open Center in 2001 and my Advanced Certification from Yogamaya in 2011, both in New York. From the beginning, my unique method of imparting the philosophy of Yoga, while integrating an amalgam of other esoteric, spiritual and metaphysical concepts has been the foundation of my teaching. A longtime Vedic Meditation practitioner, over 14 years ago I began to offer meditation classes as a complement to the physical Yoga practice. Over the years my teaching modalities have expanded and I now offer workshops in Meditation, Yoga and Spirituality here and in Italy, and have participated upon request in Yoga Teacher Training programs. Asked to create ceremonies based on my dharmic interpretations, in 2013 I became a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and officiate Weddings and other personal Ceremonies. Most recently, I was asked to be an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, teaching Yoga and Yoga Philosophy, where I was nominated for a Distinguished Teaching Award. I opened Yoga on Pine with the intention of bringing back the feeling of community, connection and alignment with a more traditional aspect of Yoga/Spiritual that I and many of my students felt was lost in the pandemic, and I  hope you will find that feeling again ( or maybe find it for the first time!) with us. Namaste.
